Chasing Fogg

Film awards season is upon us. Before we know it, summer will be here and the multiplexes will attempt to lure us in to part us with our hard-earned money.

If you can believe CNN -- [insert grain of salt here] -- they are reporting that the entire country of Liechtenstein is available for rent for a mere $70K per night.  They are quick to add that it is probably a two-night minimum. 

While going through my collection of clothing for a wee bit of spring cleaning, I discovered my wardrobe may not always be appropriate for international travel.  Case(s) in point.  T-shirts that read

OK, at long last, I have updated the Turkey section.

I would apologize for the delay but I know some of you are still waiting for the definitive publishing of our Around the World trip, currently typed up and sitting in a box behind me.  It has been ten years, a couple more years may not hurt

2010 saw the site re-platformed (again), our travels to Turkey and surpassing 400 total questions in the quiz. [Shameless commercial plug]

2011? A trip to the Caribbean and ...?  Watch this space.

I have also started transferring my Notes on Turkey into a more meaningful format.  I have gotten a first pass at Istanbul done so far.  Hopefully the rest will not be far behind

Group members continued to peel away.  Six became four when two left to catch their afternoon plane back to the States after breakfast on our last full day in Istanbul.  Lots of hugs and hand-holding as we delayed the inevitable final goodbye.  Suddenly, the trip felt farther and farther away.

It would be irresponsible to not mention and give credit to our fearless leader, A, who helped to make this little adventure a success.  She demonstrated exceptional qualities that both enhanced the education of travel and the collective bonding of our group.
