The hunting down of decent Internet access in Moscow has not been as fruitful as we had hoped.
Alive and well in (believe it or not) chilly Moscow. There seems to be a block of cold weather following us since we left Stockholm.
The train ride from St. Petersburg was nice. Train left and arrived exactly on time. We had a cozy 2-berth cabin. Clean and comfortable and with a samovar down the hall providing an endless supply of hot water. Got into Moscow at 7am, stumbled through the metro to our hotel and promptly napped. The train station we leave from tonight is next to the station we came into, so the route is known.
We have wandered Red Square and the Arbat, checked out a number of impressive metro stations, and stocked up for the train ride. We even had a decent dinner at a Mexican restaurant offering impressive views of the city.
This just in: Vladimir Lenin is still dead. We can personally confirm this since we went through his mausoleum this morning. This afternoon we will be hitting the Kremlin and hopefully will get to see some of the treasures in the Armory.
Since I doubt there will be access from the train, we will check back in when we get to Beijing.
