Back alive and in one piece, dealing with the major temperature changes and a wee bit of jet lag. I was aware of the irony in Santiago as we suffered the trip to the airport in a bus without air conditioning. Hours later we were in NYC and snow.
A significant forest or brush fire was burning along the hills surrounding the airport, covering the area in an brown-orange haze. We considered the irony of having our flight to NYC (closed a few days ago due to snow) cancelled due to smoke or fires in Santiago, but it all worked out.
Although it was a long flight, the jet lag was not as bad considering we went mainly north-south. It is just the stress of being in a plane for so long that takes its toll. Health-wise, we are doing better.
Now the rush of getting Xmas stuff done.
