- London
Despite some last minute weather and harbor traffic that delayed our docking, we had a bit of good fortune in the fact that the railway workers chose to delay their strike which was due to begin today. Disembarking was uneventful as was the taxi to the railway station. There is a direct shot to London Waterloo from Southampton and, at 11:33 am (10:33 GMT) we stepped onto the platform and made our way into the station, 78 days and nine minutes after we had departed.
We did it.
We are alive and well and, not surprisingly, we are tired. After some brief celebrations and photo-taking, we made our way to Victoria Station and boarded a train for Canterbury, where we will be ‘resting’ tonight before heading up to London on the morrow. England is much sunnier and warmer than when we left it and are looking forward to taking advantage of it.
Thank you for all of the messages. We will check in again from London.
